Draining my battery

I LOVE my cell phone. I joke that I don't remember how I lived before owning it. I use it for everything.... photos, research, webinars, meditation, social media, etc. Lately, my battery won't last long. It has gotten to the point that my battery lasts a max of three hours if I'm actively using my phone for anything, even listening to a podcast. It's very annoying and very limiting. Granted, I often spend days laid out in bed resting, but it is still annoying to be attached to a cord.  I suspected it was a battery issue, so I stole my husband's battery because we have the same style phone. (Shhhh, don't tell him.) But here I am, three days...

Prepping for the Detox

As part of my journey to Healing, I'm planning to do several detoxes and cleanses. Now there are a lot of different camps on thoughts about detoxes. Some people think you don't need them at all. Other people insist on doing them on a pretty regular basis. Personally, I feel like there are a lot of things in my body that aren't working correctly and I want to try to help clear that out so that my body can start to heal. As always, I'm no doctor and I'm just doing what I feel like is best for my health based on my research and my gut. If you decide to try any of these things, make sure you discuss...

The importance of knowing your limits

It was a really busy week. The kids started back to school. Boo is in middle school now! Ack!  Sunshine started 1st grade. Bum bum, not to be left out, took her first step this week. She's only 11 months! Slow down little one! Between the back to school shopping, trying to get the house in order, and working part time, it was a high-energy week for me. I had wanted to start my Elimination Diet this week, but with everything else going on, I decided to wait until things are a little bit more stable. One of the things I've learned in dealing with this chronic illness is that I have to pace myself. Sometimes goals I was hoping...

It's a 10! Co-Q10

The last in the triad for my magic morning drink is Co-Q10. I honestly don't remember how I first heard about CoQ10 for myself.  My dad used to take it for his Parkinson's disease.  Then my sister mentioned it in passing for help with some health issues in her family.  Then I saw it in a blog somewhere.  Those are the times I feel like the Universe is knocking me over the head saying, "Pay attention to this!" I don't even remember ordering it (a fun side effect of my brain fog.... it's often like Christmas morning at my house.  Surprise!  I don't remember ordering that - how fun!  Surprise!  I've never seen that shirt before- it's a great color!)....

I'm a body builder! Nah, but it works the same!

One of the primary symptoms I'm having that makes life so difficult to deal with is the constant muscle pain.  I describe it as always feeling like I have the flu or was hit by a truck or survived a skiing accident where I lost control and tumbled head over heels down the entire mountain and every muscle is a huge black and blue bruise.  I don't use these descriptions lightly. I apologize in advance if any of these are a trigger for you.  Sadly, I don't use the description "hit by a train" because someone close to me died in a train accident and every time I hear the phrase I cringe a little bit inside.  So when I...
